- Get everything ready for priming
I am
picking up the skin and rib for the right hand side of the
horizontal stabiliser tonight, so I am keen to take some parts
along with me and to get then out of way.
I had previously sourced some aluminium angle as a
jig which could be drilled to the rudder trailing edge so that it
stays straight. Later it will be glued and then of course
double flush riveted ...without the angle of course !
I sourced the angle from here -
www.thealuminiumshop.co.uk - I picked 1/8" thick with 2"
flanges

Then it was just a matter of drilling the rudder
bottom fibreglass attach strips into place.

Then I could take it all apart and go through the
fairly time consuming job of deburring and dimpling everything
that needs it.
The last
step involves countersinking the wedge for the training edge.
Need to go careful here its very easy to oversize the holes if you
make the countersink to big.

Off to Bobs then !
